| Julie Girling MEP Visits Plymouth Uni |
|
This morning I was fortunate enough to be invited to spend some time with The Marine Institute at the University of Plymouth. The Institute carries on the 150 year tradition of marine and maritime education in the City of Plymouth, promoting and coordinating research, education and enterprise activity across the marine and maritime sectors of the University.
My visit included a short trip on the RV Falcon Spirit into Plymouth Sound to collect water samples for annalysis. Later I met with Wendy Purcell, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University when we were able to discuss how I, as an MEP, may be able to help the University from a European perspective.
